"It would be some consolation for the feebleness of our selves and our works if all things should perish as slowly as they come into being; but as it is, increases are of sluggish growth, but the way to ruin is rapid." Lucius Anneaus Seneca, Letters to Lucilius, n. 91

Seneca Cliff? What Seneca Cliff?

  1. This curve, as replicated later in your article in an abbreviated republication of John Calhoun's Mouse Universe study graph of population numbers, is actually formed by the underlying population curve. All human activity follows the population curve. Not mentioned in any of your material is the "Last Born,1Mar,1973" comment at the apex of Calhoun's 1973 publication of the true Mouse Universe study. The 1962 study was done with Norway Rats and terminated early. Our neuro-endocrine systems are currently making us increasingly sick and killing us off. This is the true driver of population collapse, ancient and modern. Stress R Us.
